Tom graduated with a BSE degree in Occupational Safety from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. He has over 38 years of Risk Management/Safety Consulting Experience and is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Tom has developed sample vehicle safety and distracted driving programs that your organization can easily implement companywide.
My Story
After the death of his daughter Megan due to a distracted driver, Tom became a Victim's Advocate with the National Safety Council (NSC) in the Fight Against Distracted Driving. He was instrumental in helping establish the Minnesota Hands Free law in 2019 and is now working on bills in Wisconsin and other states.​ SafetyTom Consulting LLC is committed to making a difference by sharing personal experiences and advocating for safer roads. Services
Tom is an expert in delivering Keynote presentations on Distracted Driving, available in both live and virtual formats. He has reached nearly half a million people with his presentations across the country, including contractors, trucking companies, sales fleets, manufacturing firms, industry associations, conferences, community events, and high/middle schools. His presentations usually last one hour but can be condensed to 30 or 45 minutes by removing some content. Typically, the one-hour session may run over, providing an extra 5 to 15 minutes for audience questions and private conversations with Tom afterward.
Tom often partners with telematics and dash-cam manufacturers, along with various traffic safety organizations, to support the integration of these devices across different industries. His heartfelt story about his daughter highlights the critical need for traffic safety initiatives, as no one wants endure the challenges his family has faced.
